I don't do well boarding planes because of claustrophobia, so I like to read, listen to motivational podcasts, or do crossword puzzles. Once I'm aboard, I'm ok.
Airports are definitely existential. There’s a sense of displacement to them that can be disorienting. I find distraction helps.

I've only recently restarted reading books during my long-ish commutes and it helps me a lot.
At least knock away a few hours.
