Airports are definitely existential. There’s a sense of displacement to them that can be disorienting. I find distraction helps.

Yes! Everything is in limbo because you're neither here nor there, so you end up thinking about things that you'd not normally think about. What kinds of distractions do you pursue in airports? I'm usually too anxious for my next flight to get distracted.

I don't do well boarding planes because of claustrophobia, so I like to read, listen to motivational podcasts, or do crossword puzzles. Once I'm aboard, I'm ok.

I've only recently restarted reading books during my long-ish commutes and it helps me a lot.
